The Energy Advocates recently presented US Congressman John Sullivan with the annual Energy Advocate of the Year Award.
Tulsa, OK – November 29, 2010 — The Energy Advocates recently awarded US Congressman John Sullivan the Energy Advocate of the Year Award. The annual award is presented by The Energy Advocates to individuals and corporations that make a difference in regard to the energy industry and/or energy policy. Congressman Sullivan is only one of three members of Congress in the 36 year history of the organization to receive a similar award, (Congresswoman Mary Fallin and Congressman Peterson of Pennsylvania).
The award was presented at the IEPC 2010 conference awards luncheon. Congressman Sullivan served as the keynote speaker. The event was the final of four roundtable events that were held throughout 2010, (Washington, D.C., Houston, Kansas City) in which the focus was on natural gas and its perception within and outside the energy industry.
“Congressman John Sullivan understands the energy industry and the challenges it faces” commented Mark A. Stansberry, Conference Chairman. “Oklahoma and the Nation are very fortunate that Congressman Sullivan is leading Congress to develop a much needed energy policy and energy direction”.

US Congressman John Sullivan is scheduled to be the keynote address on the November 15th Energy Policy Conference luncheon. The Congressman will also be receiving an award from the Energy Advocates for his work with the American energy industry.
Tulsa, OK – September 22, 2010 – United States Congressman John Sullivan will be the keynote speaker at the International Energy Policy Conference luncheon that will be held at the Tulsa, OK Petroleum Club on November 15, 2010. The Congressman is in his second term as a member of the US House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Climate Change. Congressman Sullivan also is continuing his service on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, the oldest legislative standing committee in the U.S. House of Representatives. This committee is responsible for legislative oversight relating to telecommunications, consumer protection, food and drug safety, public health, air quality and environmental health, the supply and delivery of energy, and interstate and foreign commerce.
The Energy Advocates, key sponsor of the 2010 Energy Policy Conference, is also to award the Congressman with the annual Energy Advocate of the Year Award. The Congressman was chosen for this award for his work on both committees and his work towards assisting the US energy industry.
“Congressman Sullivan has worked very hard for the energy industry here in the US, it is only befitting that he be given this award at this years conference.” Commented Mark Stansberry, Conference Chairman. “It is because of people like the Congressman going to bat for and protecting our industry that will help states like Oklahoma thrive in the coming years.”
